TOCUMBÉ is a group of experienced drummers, percussionists and Brazilian music enthusiasts united by a passion for the authentic rhythms of Brazil. Our music is rooted in Brazilian traditions where drums, percussion and the energy of playing together take centre stage. We draw our inspiration primarily from the rhythms of Rio de Janeiro and Salvador da Bahia - two cities that stand among the most important centres of Brazilian percussion culture.
For more than two decades, we have been learning from leading Brazilian musicians, regularly bringing new inspiration, knowledge and experience directly from Brazil to Slovakia.
TOCUMBÉ is the natural result of a long musical journey. Every member brings experience from different bands and musical projects, yet we are united by one shared vision: to perform Brazilian music with respect for its traditions while delivering the energy and excitement that captivates every audience.
Our repertoire showcases the rich diversity of Brazilian rhythms from the powerful Samba Reggae of Salvador da Bahia through Samba Afro, Ijexá, Maracatu, to the vibrant carnival rhythms of Samba Enredo from Rio de Janeiro. Every performance is a celebration of music, movement, rhythm and joy - the very essence of Brazil. Powerful percussion, dynamic choreography and authentic Brazilian instruments create an unforgettable experience that draws the audience in from the very first beat.
